In addition to live Q&A with various attendees, we heard details about Coach Hambly’s collegiate success as a player and philosophy as a coach.

Kevin Hambly
Head Coach, Stanford Women's Volleyball Team
Coach Hambly is the Head Volleyball Coach of the NCAA women’s defending national champion volleyball team, the Stanford Cardinal. During his three years at Stanford, Kevin has amassed a record of 94-9 with a PAC-12 Conference record of 57-3. In his second year at Stanford, Coach Hambly set a school record for consecutive victories (32) and completed the PAC-12’s first undefeated conference season in 15 years en route to winning the 2018 National Championship
Coach Hambly competed in volleyball collegiately at Brigham Young University where he arrived after having earned All-American status in high school. Kevin proceeded to earn All-American honors twice while at BYU and he led the nation in block in 1995. Following his playing career at BYU, Kevin played professionally in France for Montepellier Universite Club.
Coach Hambly’s previous coaching stops include assistant roles with UNLV, the U.S. Olympic Team, and Illinois, where he went on to serve as head coach for eight seasons.
Additionally, Kevin served as the 6,000+ members American Volleyball Coaches’ Association president from 2013-2015. He has also won both conference and national coach of the year honors.
Kevin’s wife, Mary, serves as Stanford Women’s Volleyball’s Director of Operations. The Hambly family is completed with daughters, Quinn & Maura, along with their dog, Scout.
