Meb Keflezighi is one of the most accomplished distance runners in history. In addition to being the only runner ever to win the New York City Marathon, the Boston Marathon and to earn an Olympic medal, Meb won four NCAA titles while at UCLA and he has set numerous records at the amateur, professional, and senior ranks.
He began his running career in his hometown of San Diego, CA. While attending San Diego High School, Meb established himself as one of the nation’s best. His 2nd place finish at the 1993 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships was an early success in a decades long career filled with successes.
His collegiate career featured him wining both track and cross-country championships on the way to becoming one of the most accomplished UCLA Bruins in history. In 2010, UCLA inducted Meb into their athletics Hall of Fame.
After college, his professional career features USA Cross Country Championships (‘01, ‘02, ‘09), an Olympic silver medal (‘04), winning the New York City Marathon (‘09) and many other distinctions.
The crowning achievement of Meb’s career was his victory, and personal best, at the 2014 Boston Marathon, the year following the Boston Marathon bombings. The victory made Meb the only athlete ever to win the New York City & Boston Marathons while also winning an Olympic medal.
Meb is married with three daughters. He spends much of his time working with The MEB Foundation. The MEB Foundation works tirelessly to fulfill its mission as a collaborator and leader in the areas of youth health, education and fitness.
