Jessica Mendoza
TEAM USA Left-fielder, 2-time olympian
Jessica is widely regarded as one of the best softball players in the history of the sport. Jessica has numerous accomplishments tied to her name including being an Olympic gold medalist, a 4X NCAA All-American and an individual season/competition batting averages above .470 at the collegiate, professional and Olympic levels.
Throughout her career, Jessica could hit for power and hit for average while being a highly proficient base stealer. She was a multi-sport athlete in high school earning team MVP for her basketball team her Junior and Senior seasons before enrolling at Stanford where she thrice won Stanford Athlete of the Year.
Jessica served as a Senior Advisor to the General Manager of the New York Mets and she was the first female booth broadcaster in ESPN history for college and professional baseball.
Among other projects for ESPN, Jessica is currently covering the postponement of the Olympics as well as the predicaments of unpaid minor league baseball players.
She enjoys her mother’s tamales and her father’s chorizo goulash.
